Located in South West Nevada approximately 45 miles from Las Vegas, Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Services serves a rapidly growing population of approximately 40,000 permanent and 5,000 seasonal residents.
 
Under the direction of Fire Chief Scott F. Lewis, the department provides Fire Suppression, HAZ Mat, Fire Prevention / Inspections, Technical Rescue and Advanced Life Support EMS Services.

The department staff consists of career, intermittent and volunteer members answering approximately 8,000 emergency responses annually.

From four stations, the department covers 400 square miles and an additional 200 square miles automatic mutual aid. Three of the four stations are manned full time with career personnel.

The department fleet consists of:

  • Four (4) Class “A” (Type I) engines
  • One (1) Reserve Class “A” (Type I) engine
  • One (1) ARFF Engine
  • One (1) 75’ Tower Ladder
  • One (1) Heavy Rescue
  • Two (2) Type III Brush Trucks
  • Two (2) Type VI Brush Quick Attacks
  • Three (3) Water Tenders (3500 gallons each)
  • Five (5) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances
  • Two (2) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Squads (4wd SUVs)
  • One (1) Command Vehicle
  • One (1) HAZ Mat Response Trailer
  • Two (2) General Utility Trucks
  • Two (2) Administrative Support Vehicles
  • One (1) Antique Engine
  • Two (2) ATV Quads
